Longest and Shortest Sleeping Hours

On 4th April 2012, a survey had been carried out at Lecture Room 3 (LR3), Block N, Universiti Teknologi Petronas. I posted a question to find out the longest and shortest sleeping hour. I think the longest hours are more than a day and the shortest hour is 0.

This survey had been done by 29 students of UTP which consists of 28 local students and 1 international student. Among these 29 students, 21 of them are male and another 8 are female. Every student is within the range of 17 to 20 years old. 28 students are from Engineering courses while the other one is from Business Information System course. The question had been written on a piece of paper and distributed in a huge circle. Everyone had to answer only once.

From the survey, the longest sleeping hours are 26 hours and the shortest sleeping hour is 0 hour. For the longest sleeping hours, 89.66% of the students had given an answer but only 1 student answered the 26 hours while 10.34% had given error answers. For the shortest sleeping hour, 55.17% of the students had given an answer which 31.25% of them answered 0 hour while 44.83% had given error answers. The error answers consist of illogical answers, not in digit values and the unit is not in hours.

Thus, from this survey, I can conclude that the longest sleeping hours of students in UTP is 26 hours while the shortest is 0 hour. Hence, the hypothesis is accepted.
