On 4th April 2012, a survey has been carried out at Lecture Room 3 (LR3), Block N in University Technology of Petronas. I had posted a question to find out whether typing messages or making a direct calling is more likeable among the UTPians for Tutorial Class Group 1. I choose this  question because I am sure that students and technology are two subjects that could not be separated. Technology is very important in students' life nowadays. Two main ways in communicating with our friends and parents are typing messanges and making a call.

This survey has been done by 29 students which consists of 21 male students and 8 female students. These students are from different races, religions and family backgrounds. There are 20 Malays, 8 Chinese and one international student, which is from Sudan. The survey is started by passing a paper to each students and they need to answer the questions honestly. Each students is required to answer the question once only. Before analysing the data, I has made my hypothesis that most of the students prefer to type messages compared to make a direct calling. It is because typing messages required a little time than making a call.

Based on the research that has been carried out, there are 24 students prefer to type messages with percentages of 83%. The other 5 students feel easily to make a call compared to type messages to communicate with other persons. The percentage of students who choose to make a call is just 17%. So, the result shows that the number of UTPians students from Tutorial Group 1 who typing messages to communicate is five times more that the other students who decide to make a call.

As a conclusion, there are many students prefer to type messages than making a direct calling. There are two assumptions that I can make based on the final results. First and foremost, students are very busy with their assignments and they do not have enough time to make a call just to inform a small matter to other persons. Secondly, they have to save their money on handphone's credit so that they can use the money in other important things. Hence, the hypothesis is accepted.
