A survey was conducted on 4th of April 2012, around 5.30 p.m. in lecture room 3. The survey was mainly to analyze the percentage of coffee addicts among the UTPians. As 35 students sit around the circle; papers of research were passed on. The responders to the survey were a total of 29 students. 28 of them were local students and only one was an international responder.
As for my question, ‘Are you a coffee addict?’ received a lot of negative responses as most of the students answered no. Only 17 out of 29 students that t surveyed were a coffee-addict. Whereas, more than half of the class answered no. Only 1 out of the 35 students could not make his mind whether he is a coffee addict or not. Well, for the percentage basis, those who are addicted to coffee carry only 58.62%. Those who are not addicted to coffee bring about 68.97%. The remaining percentage belongs to the sole person who gave the answer,’50-50’.
Being a coffee addict has both advantages and disadvantages. Mainly, coffee helps to overcome Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson disease is a trembling movement that usually occurs in older people. Coffee can also help with head ache, reduces chances of having gallstones. Coffee also acts as antioxidant.
However, for the negative effects, it contains caffeine which reduces chances of sleeping. Lack of sleep causes stress. It may cause constipation, stains the drinker’s teeth. Lastly, drinking coffee brings both advantages and disadvantages. So the best choice is to take them moderately.
As for me, who conducted the survey, also a coffee addict who can’t resist or prevent myself from drinking coffee. Therefore. The hypothesis that I’ve made that most utp students aren’t coffee addicts were accepted.
