Illegal Concerts in Brunei
Did you know that there are illegal events or concerts conducted in Brunei?
Illegal concerts are events which did not have any approval from the respective
authority and usually this took place underground, where people invited
surreptitiously. The following paragraphs will elaborate more on the causes,
effects and ways to overcome this problem.
There are various reasons for this to ensue and the main reason is lack
of entertainment. As you Brunei is a pious country, which holds the “MIB”
(Melayu Islam Beraja) principle as their way of life. Nightclubs, bars or such
places are banned completely in Brunei, thus, this results in people there
conducting underground gigs or concerts and mostly the participants are youngsters.
Other reasons could be curiosity or just wanting to experience something new
and different.
Illegal concerts are the main causes for social problems among the
young generation and it's increasing at alarming rate. This can lead to underage sex and drinking and then
one problem lead to another. Furthermore, this causes an increase in noise
pollution. This can be a problem to the society. A society which once lived in
such peace could abruptly diminish. In every country, people are trying to
achieve living in harmony and peace and because of this matter, all of that can
just be a wishful thinking.
In order to prevent from illegal concerts, Brunei government should
reinforced laws and often put police on night patrol. Not only that, society
can contribute reducing this crisis by educating their kids, increase their
supervision among the youngsters. Schools can conduct extra-curriculum
activities for the students to avoid them going to these such events. They
should do a road show, educating the people what are happening around them, how
to handle the situation, educating them on how to reduce it.
In conclusion, this matter should not take lightly. It could get worst
if we ignored it. Brunei government and the society can work mutually, in order
to prevent and later reduce this problem from occurring once more.
